for some reason there are tons of parades in my neighborhood. i never know when they're gonna happen. i never know WHY they're happening (they're always at super random times). but i love standing on the side of the street and cheering them on
i love seeing what's on people's refrigerator's. growing up my mom always made collages of friends and family on the side of the fridge. anyone who came over usually spent a chunk of kitchen time staring at the giant mass of photos.
guess the apple didn't fall too far from the tree. seems like i always have pics of friends and family on our fridge too.
liz and paige came for a quick weekend visit in december and we spent one night feasting, dancing, movie-ing, and nail painting at my place. MAN i wish those ladies lived closer. always good to spend some QT with them
i was lucky enough for my family to hold off my sister in law's baby shower until me and my sister cassie were both home for christmas.
well now the time has come for the next step. amanda and my brother chris are in the hospital preparing for the arrival of my new nephew. they've prepped for months and are now inducing labor. many many positive thoughts to them right now that the delivery goes well.
my family's growing at rapid rates and i couldn't be more excited about it!
chris and i tested out our sea legs again and went fishing while in key west. we didn't catch anything as big as andy did in nicaragua - but our fishing guide sure was surprised when i pulled out a puffer fish.
these guys are CRAZY. he looked like a normal fish when he came out of the water, but then by the time chris took the picture, we got him off the hook (they're poisonous to the touch, so it took a bit), and threw him back he was as big as a balloon. he was so inflated he bounced when he hit the water.
last year we ventured to nicaragua (pics, pics, pics, and more pics) for our NYE vacation. this year we decided to stay in the country and spend the holiday with family.
after a ridiculously difficult shuffle of flights that involved me buying new summer clothes (thanks NYC snowstorm!) and a 14 hour travel day, i finally got to key west to spend some time with chris and his family and my good friend vicki who lives there.
fishing and aquariums.
giant family dinners, and card games and sunshine.
