TODAY IS JAY BELIN'S BIRTHDAY

after meeting 4 years ago on a delayed flight to sxsw, Jay quickly became one of my favorite people ever.

he listens to my problems, gets me into the best kind of trouble, and is always the first to call me a wahmbulance

IT'S GETTING THERE

the official countdown begins - in 5 days we move into the new spot.

for the last two weeks we've been working hard at making our new place home.

everything has been attacked with a fresh coat of paint. The deck has been bamboo'd. old lighting switched out for newer models. the furniture's been assembled and is waiting on the arrival of the rest of our things.

can't wait to have everyone over for bbq's and summer hangs.

i should probably pack first...

SUNNY'S GOING AWAY (FOR A MONTH)

a couple weekend's ago we had a crazy night sending the lovely Sunny Shokrae off to Iran for a month.

ACE Hotel dance party DJ'd by McSwain and Annette, followed by karaoke party on St. Marks until 6 am. duets welcome, bongos included.

even though i'm staying in the same area, moving is really making me notice how much our little hood has changed in the last 5 years

chris and i got the keys to our apartment today.

we have so much packing, painting and decorating in the next two weeks.

i can't even begin to explain how excited i am.

oh, and the grill comes today. SCORE!

PSYCHEDELIC EASTER EGG PARTY

i haven't dyed easter eggs in years, so i knew when chris agreed to it and came home with a kit, i had to figure out how to tie dye the eggs.

after a bunch of research, some helpful links from friends, and a little trial and error - we now have a super groovy easter set up. since i drained and sterilized the eggs, we don't have to worry about keeping them in the fridge. I used the paper grass and peeps chris put in my easter basket to really set the scene.

GETTIN MY HAIR DID

its been about 10 years since i stepped into a salon (no reason to when you cut your own hair)

but this year i decided i needed a jump on summer hair asap.

thanks Tommy Guns - now that its sunny and warm today i feel perfectly at home.
