MAYBE LIFE IS A BEACH

while in costa rica we frequented three different beaches (one of them multiple times). hazel was obsessed. she loved the sand. she loved the waves. she loved collecting shells.

we have a very promising future as a beach bumming family.

IT'S A DATE

one afternoon chris and i decided to run to the store while hazel was napping and being watched by her grandma. 

we quickly realized there was no way for them to contact us, so took advantage of the situation by stopping for a lunch date with an epic ocean view and tropical drinks.

AND THEN THERE'S THESE TWO MONKEYS

over the course of the two weeks with the harmons hazel became best buds with her cousin lucas. they had so much fun playing together

CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE ANIMAL KIND

we've been to our fair share of exotic locations, but never have we ever stayed in a house that had so much wildlife not only in our back yard but playing on our balconies, tapping at our windows and sunning on our pool deck.

and i didn't even get photos of the different kinds of iguanas, the small brown monkeys who traveled in packs of 5-10, the watusa's, or the many other kinds of birds that sang outside each day.

LA CASA EN MANUEL ANTONIO

we arrived to our house in manuel antonio at night, so couldn't get a full sense of our surroundings until the next morning when we woke up, which turned out to be a lovely surprise. 

the house we rented had three amazing floors with full balconies overlooking stunning views of the pacific coast. below was a beautiful pool that we all used multiple times a day, with a cold tub and lounge chairs surrounded by lush jungle plants and flowers.

and OH THE ANIMALS. more on that later.

WE WISHED YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS

we spent this christmas in atlanta with the harmons. the festivities started with a cheese and wine happy hour, a fancy christmas eve dinner prepared by chris's mom followed by holiday poppers and rounds of card games.

we woke up on christmas morning and headed over to chris's brother's house, where we opened a ton of presents, ate a lovely brunch and jumped on beds. cause that's what you do on christmas, right?

BACK IN THE BURB GROOVE

we're home! 

after almost two weeks of travels we flew back to the states this weekend and MAN does it feel good to be back to our little pink house in the burbs.

thanks to my amazing new camera (again, best husband ever) i have a million pics to post from the travels. here we go...
