CAPE MAY

somehow over the past two years, sleeping in six states and two other countries, we forgot to take a family vacation - just the three of us. chris had the brilliant idea of a throwing together a quicky mini-vacation to cape may and it was exactly what we needed.

we loved the beach town. it was less jersey shore and more southern quaint, and just a 2.5 hour drive from our house we couldn't have asked for more.

oh, and we ate ice cream every day. because it was vacation and that's what we harmon's do.

LAP SWIM

been lap swimming each weekend and gotta admit i'm gonna miss working out in this scene once winter comes. thank god i've got a couple more months. 

ADULTS LIKE JELLO SHOTS TOO

you've probably seen throughout the years that i'm a big fan of spiked jello. i've been known to bring jello shots to housewarming parties, made vodka orange slices for a BBQ in 2010, tried a pineapple version in 2011 for our luau and even made adult watermelon wedges for nina's bachelorette party last year.

so when our good friends and neighbors told me about their joint birthday party over fourth of july weekend i thought it was the perfect time to revisit spiked orange jello slice shots.

needless to say, they were a hit. at least until the next morning when the hangover kicked in.

GRANDMA AND HER GIRLS

it's been a crazy few weeks (when is it not?) so i haven't gotten around to posting for a bit, but we just had the best visit from my mom, sister and two nieces. they spent a full week with us and the whole trip flew by faster than i could have ever imagined. 

the girls taught hazel all about princesses, dress up, and staying up late to watch movies, and my mom squeezed in as many hugs as possible. we miss them so much already, but so glad they were able to come.

BORN TO WANDER

this past weekend we went camping with some of our favorite adventures for a triple gemini birthday getaway. not gonna lie, we looked forward to this for weeks - possibly months. 

it was the perfect way to spend the long holiday weekend.

this year on my birthday i decided to treat myself.

i dropped hazel off at daycare, went on a quick run around the park then headed straight to the beach to relax in the sand by myself. i followed that up with an ice cream cone on the boardwalk and a pedi and BOOM - pretty much the best, most relaxing birthday i've had in a while.

BIRTHDAY BBQ FOR TWO

we had a little birthday BBQ for me and hazel this weekend. it was a great excuse to get together and kick off summer in the backyard. and eat tons of food, naturally.
