CHRIS'S PARENTS CAME TO TOWN

Chris's parents came to NYC last weekend. The took us to some amazing dinners and brunch, and treated us to the broadway play "In the Heights".
We laughed. We drank. Parents are the best.

NEW PALTZ IS ABOUT TO GET A LOT SCARIER

I'm going as Nicky Finn from Who's that Girl/Zombie for halloween.  And with Nina as Cindi Lauper/Zombie, and Chris as Bruce Springsteen/Zombie, we're gonna be the scariest 80's pop stars New Paltz has ever seen.

Random? yes.
Amazing? yes.

THINGS I SHOULDN’T BE ALLOWED TO HAVE MORE OF, BUT STILL BUY

· Acid wash and/or stone wash skinny jeans

· Fake eyelashes – never wear them, but have a huge stash thanks to the Vogue beauty department.

· Onesies/Jumpsuits/Sleepers – summer shorts, fancy night-on-the-town long sleeves, or cozy button ups with stripes to sleep in, I love them all.

· Tie Dye – with the exception of tie-dyed socks. You can never have too many of those.

· Black – I already look like I’m going to a funeral almost every day.

· Yarn – this probably isn’t so bad since I’m currently working on two afghans and a scarf, but still. I own a ridiculous amount of yarn.

MEGAN CEDRO WEARS COOL GLASSES AND MAKES GREAT ART

Megan Cedro is crazy talented. her paintings and sketches of big-eyed skinny-armed girls will catch your eye, but the abstracted men with beards and animals will confirm her talent and unique vision. She has a lot of great work, you should give it a look.

i love the bird beard

SUNSHINE GO AWAY TODAY. I DONT FEEL MUCH LIKE DANCING

today is a sad day. today is the last day Liz and Damian live in New York.
after almost a decade of living in new york, they've caused the best trouble all over the city, worked at the coolest publications, and gained a trusted group of friends who are devastated by their departure.
no one will ever fill their shoes as far as friends go.

but tomorrow they pack the U-Haul, wrangle their asshole cat Duke, and move down the road to Austin, TX. And while all of us are sad they are leaving, we all know it's what's best.
still hard to see them go.

REMINDERS OF PUMPKINS PAST

its pumpkin season, and i'm ready to start carving.
a few years ago Julia and I carved pumpkins on her roof.
i carved a pumpkin built on rock and roll. she made a bat.
nothing says fall like pumpkin carving, hot rum and cider, and roasted pumpkin seeds.
