FLEW THEN FLU

i had the most amazing time in missouri at my baby shower. my sisters threw a great party and i got to see a ton of family and friends which was awesome.

i flew back sunday night and promptly came down with the flu that's taken me out of work for the last two days. being sick while pregnant sucks. i'd give anything to pop a dayquil right about now.

WEEKEND SHOWERS

i'm heading to missouri bright and early tomorrow morning for a baby shower my sisters and family are throwing me. really looking forward to spending time with everyone, even though it's a quick trip. my family's the best.

CRIB DIY: BABYLETTO DRAWER COVER

buckle up friends, looks like right now is the official start of baby related DIYs. sorry (not sorry).

chris and i spent weeks looking at cribs - we wanted something simple with a nice design but didn't want to pay a ton for it.

we found the perfect crib for us - the babyletto mercer 3-in-1 convertible crib. since we live in an apartment in nyc, the drawer underneath was a huge bonus for extra storage.  what we didn't realize was that you could see into the drawer without a crib skirt, which wasn't ideal.

no biggie, i DIY'd an easy drawer cover:

i bought one yard of faux white leather and some snaps from the fabric store. i used hard core glue to attach the bottom snaps to the wood, and sewed the top part of each snap to the corners of the leather, pulling tight so there was no lag.

cut off the extra leather and TA-DA, simple fast fix that's easy to get in and out of, while not compromising the design of the crib. BOOM

MY VALENTINE

sure, you've seen a million pictures of chris and yeah, you've probably heard me say how he's such a great guy. but really. he might be the best.

he's the husband who puts together a crib at midnight since he knows boxes in the apartment stresses me out. he jumps into my crazy projects without thinking twice, like DIYing our own shelves or driving me to staten island to find the perfect upholstery to redo a chair. he always takes the trash out, changes all our lightbulbs, and even wakes up early to shovel the sidewalk before going to work.

not only is chris the best husband but he's going to be the most amazing dad.
me and our soon-to-be baby girl couldn't be luckier to have him in our lives.

this weekend chris got an early birthday present from my family, so we took it for a spin with our test subject, soda.
