FLASHBACK TO FATHERS DAY

just getting around to posting some pics from earlier this summer, and realized i never put up photos from fathers day in june

it was a pretty important day for us - not only was it chris's first fathers day, but we were lucky enough to have my dad here too. we spent the day walking around the brooklyn botanical garden which turned out to be the perfect activity for a three week old.

BEACH BEBE

when hazel was three weeks old we decided it was probably time to hit the beach.

she loved it, other than not being able to be in the sun or the sand... but once we got set up she took a nap stretched out on the blanket under the umbrella and seemed to be loving life.

can't wait until she's old enough to dig in the sand and splash in the water.

IS THIS A BABY BLOG?

okay. so i realize almost all my posts lately have been about hazel.

but i guess that's the majority of what's going on in my life, and since this is my blog about what i'm seeing and doing i guess it makes sense.

as a visual person i'm still trying to keep an eye out for photo opportunities in everyday life, but right now my days pretty much revolve around her. and lets be honest - she's pretty stinkin' cute.

SISTER SISTER

i just spent the last week hanging out with my amazing sister, melissa, who came to nyc to visit us and meet hazel.

it was HUGE help to have her here to reassure me about things like - yes, that is indeed a noise babies are supposed to make and yes, that diaper blowout is completely normal.

already miss having her around but glad she was able to come for as long as she did. man. family rules.

DIY: WOVEN CHAIR

it seems like everyone is weaving something these days, and i saw these woven chairs on a blog so i thought it'd give it a shot for one of my bestie's birthday presents.

the hardest part was creating the pattern and doing the math to figure out how to execute it properly, but after that was done the weaving part was pretty easy (once i got the hang of it)

thanks to nina - the birthday girl - for the adorable photo of hazel in the chair!

THE HUMBOLDT MCGUINNESS EXIT

any time i get into a cab coming home from the city i say the same thing. "i'm going to williamsburg - the humboldt/mcguinness exit off the bqe"

i've said it so much over the past 5 years i could say it in my sleep. i should learn it in other languages.
