okay, okay. that was by far the longest break i've taken from posting on this blog, but i had quite a bit going on.
we bought a pink house in maplewood, nj and moved last saturday. BUT if the madness of moving to a new state with a toddler wasn't enough, we spent the four weeks prior to the move prepping the home. that involved driving out to the house 2-4 times a week (with toddler in tow) meeting with contractors and inspectors, picking up permits, and even just scrubbing down whatever surface i could find.
to give you an idea of what we did in the four weeks between getting the keys to the house and moving day, here's a little list:
- chimney repaired and cleaned
- upstairs bathroom gutted and remodeled
- found all new bathroom accessories/supplies, purchased, and brought to the house
- removed creepy windows above mantle overlooking crawl space (?!?)
- removed creepy windows above mantle overlooking crawl space (?!?)
- oil tank removed
- converted the house from oil to gas
- we painted the walls of 6 rooms
- we painted the trim of 3 rooms
- hire contractors to paint the trim of the rest of the house (so necessary)
- scrape and repaint the interior/exterior of 22 (of the 24) windows
- asbestos in the basement removed
- asbestos in the basement removed
- pull a million weeds, mow the lawn each week
- meet with contractors about starting kitchen renovation
so yeah. i didn't have time to post on this here blog. but we moved in and are SO HAPPY.
