this was the first cherry tomato from our topsy turvy on the deck. i was pretty bummed to find out the plant i had been nurturing for the last month was full of mini toms instead of the big guys, but now that's the least of our troubles...
you might remember that crazy SQUIRREL i mentioned a while back? well he's been hanging out more and more - mono-railing the tree branches and still showing no fear, so i named him pierre. turns not only did he eat all of those stupid cherry tomatoes, but 'he' is actually a 'she' and made a huge nest in the topsy turvy, and had babies in there.
so yeah. the topsy turvy is now a baby squirrel pad and there's nothing we can do about it - for at least a few weeks. then hopefully we can convince 'ol pierre to move her happy family elsewhere.
silver lining - i'm hoping the 'lil buggers get super cute and allow for some prime photo ops like this guy i found while google imaging 'baby squirrel':
