I SHOULDN'T BE LEFT ALONE WITH SCISSORS

The first time I cut my own hair I was four years old. I woke up early one saturday and chopped the long blonde hair from each side of my head - I couldn't reach the back, so there was nothing I could do about the rattail I'd unintentionally created.

When my parents woke up and saw my 'do they were surprisingly unhappy with my hair cutting skills, so naturally I blamed my older sister Melissa for the entire thing. I mean, it made sense - she WAS always wanting to play with my hair.

She cried
Eventually the truth came out
I had a bob for a year

I still cut my own hair. Somewhere between that morning and a handful of bad missouri haircuts I decided I'd take my chances.
