TWO - OH - ONE - THREE

2012 was good to me. and i mean reeeeeal good
i can without a doubt say it was the best year of my life.

i got engaged, married, AND went on a honeymoon, was promoted at work, turned 30, celebrated buddies birthdays on boats and busses, went on countless adventures with friends, traveled to LA, joshua tree, missouri, atlanta, thailand, cambodia and austin (twice), and DIY'd my little heart out.

and on top of that i wrote 200 blog posts throughout the year (yep, i counted em) documenting the whole thing.

2012 was a crazy exciting year, and there's no way i'm slowing down now

here's to health, happiness, love and new memories in 2013
happy new year friends

THE END

a six hour layover (and visa) in shanghai, paired with a 15 hour flight back to the states and our honeymoon adventure was over

the whole trip was hands down the most magical experience of our lives. honeymoon's rule.

J U N G L E T E M P L E S

we knew we wanted to check out as many temples as we could in the limited time we had, so we hired a car to take us temple hopping and a guide to tell us what we were looking at

soooo insanely amazing to walk through these temples from 1100 AD

A QUICK TRIP TO CAMBODIA

24 HOURS IN BANGKOK

our bangkok trip was a bit of a bust - which we were totally fine with at that point in the trip. our flight got delayed so the little time we planned to be there got even shorter.

we were only able to make it to one temple - wat pho - which is a giant reclining gold plated buddha. when i say giant, i mean G I A N T (160 feet long to be exact).

one great thing about our day there was we timed it perfectly to be there during the loy krathong festival, which is one of the biggest festivals of the year in thailand. there were a ton of fireworks going off all night and we were able to join in and send off the banana leaf hand made krathongs into the water.

oh, and our hotel was INSANE

AND THEN WE ADOPTED ELEPHANTS

one of the main reasons we went to thailand for our honeymoon was because i wanted to hang out with elephants. and so. we. did.

we found the patara elephant farm on the ol' internet and quickly made reservations. we each adopted an elephant for the day - which included learning about the elephants, how to check their health, feeding them tons of bananas and sugarcane, bathing them in a river, and riding them bareback through the jungle.

hands down the most epic day ever.
