HERE PIGGY PIGGY

last year i tie dyed a birthday cake for chris's 30th, so i wanted to do something just as special this year. since it was a luau theme party (and i wouldn't let chris bury a pig in our bathtub in sand) i decided a pig roast cake would be perfect.

sadly i forgot to take pictures until the cakes were out of the oven and shaped, but at least you can still see it without the icing.

I made four cakes - two rectangles and two squares to work with (i had no idea what i was doing), and marbled the cake so it would look like pork inside. delicious, i know.

a little cake sculpting and three cans of died pink icing later voilĂ ! a pig roast cake! and i of course had to decorate it with lettuce and potatoes when i brought it out to get the full effect.

thanks to julia for crafting the pipecleaner tail, and lauren for taking some pics of me decorating the cake
